See what the Bots of Google wrote.

In testing different AI content programs, I put Google (now Gemini previously Bard) through its paces and asked it to write me an article about “easy SEO” with “easy steps for the win that anyone can do to improve visibility. Word for word, here’s what Gemini spat out.
Freaky Easy SEO: 5 Tricks Anyone Can Do to Boost Visibility
Hey there, content creators! It’s your friendly neighborhood writer, here to spill the tea on a little something called SEO. Don’t let that fancy term scare you off – even us “good enough” SEO folks started somewhere.
Now, I’m not gonna baffle you with technical jargon like “robots.txt” or “meta descriptions” (although, we might peek at those later). Today’s all about simple, actionable steps that’ll tell Google, “Hey, awesome content over here!” and boost your website’s visibility. Ready? Let’s do this!
Trick #1: Be BFFs with Google Search Console
Think of Google Search Console as your website’s report card from the search engine giant himself. It’s free, easy to set up, and tells you all sorts of goodies, like what people are searching for to find your site. This goldmine of info helps you tailor your content to what people actually want to see. Plus, you can submit your sitemap – basically a map of all your website’s pages – to make sure Google knows everything you’ve got.
Trick #2: Speak Google’s Language (Well, Kind Of)
Imagine Google as a super-powered librarian who can only read text. So, ditch those image-heavy descriptions and PDFs. Instead, write clear, concise descriptions in good ol’ text for each item on your site. This way, Google can understand what your content is about and show it to the right people.
Trick #3: Fresh is Best (For Google Too!)
Have a brand new blog post or updated an existing one? Don’t be shy! Let Google know about your shiny new content. Some website platforms have built-in features to do this, but you can also use tools like Google Search Console to request indexing. Basically, you’re saying, “Hey Google, check out this awesome new stuff!”
Trick #4: Internal Linking: Your Website’s Navigation System
Think of your website as a museum. You want visitors to explore all the cool exhibits, right? That’s where internal linking comes in. It’s like creating little signs that point visitors from one page on your site to another relevant one. This helps Google understand the structure of your website and the connections between your content. Bonus: it keeps visitors engaged and clicking around!
Trick #5: Make Mobile Your Main Squeeze
Let’s face it, everyone uses their phones these days. So, make sure your website is mobile-friendly! Google loves websites that look good and work smoothly on all devices. There are plenty of free tools to test your website’s mobile responsiveness – a quick search online will point you in the right direction.
Remember: SEO is a marathon, not a sprint. But with these freaky easy tricks, you’ll be well on your way to higher website visibility and a happier Google. Keep creating fantastic content, and don’t be afraid to experiment and learn as you go.
P.S. There’s a whole world of SEO out there, but these five tricks are a fantastic starting point. As you get more comfortable, you can explore those slightly more technical terms we mentioned earlier. But for now, focus on creating great content and making Google your website’s biggest fan!
